About Us

Creation of «The International Center for Cross-Border Cooperation« Khorgos» was originally initiated by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. 

A realization of this project will be one of the stages in the implementation of the Message of the people of Kazakhstan Republic of Kazakhstan «New Kazakhstan in the new world» of 28 February 2007, the Strategy of Industrial-Innovation Development of Kazakhstan for 2003-2015, Strategy of Kazakhstan among the fifty most competitive countries, the Republic of Kazakhstan Transport Strategy until 2015 and the Strategy of Spatial Development of Kazakhstan till 2015. 10
As a major transportation and logistics hub of international importance, item transition Khorgos could function in the long run as a dry port in the direction of «East-West», and as a major transport and logistics and industrial center of international importance.

Kazakhstan has significant potential for inclusion in the system of international trade and international transportation and logistics business. The greatly increased cross-border free trade area (FTA), the Chinese port city Khorgos is one of the most significant projects in Central Asia, as well as creates conditions for the development of transit potential of Kazakhstan and the Almaty region, realizing the potential for development of transit in the direction of «East-West» .

Establishment of the Center will promote intensive development of economy in the Almaty region, the development and improvement of transport, engineering and tourism infrastructure, increased traffic, the emergence of new places of employment, raise living standards of the resident population. Concessional terms of displacement in the Center of goods, finance, technology, information, create a favorable climate for attracting investment

Beginning in 2012, is scheduled to finish construction of the Center's first phase: it is internal and the external bulk of the engineering infrastructure, as well as the phased completion of the construction of facilities financed by private investment.
